Meeting to discuss the establishment of a state level network of Forum for Creches and Child Care Services (FORCES)

An exploratory meeting was organised to discuss the establishment of a state level network of Forum for Creches and Child Care Services (FORCES). The meeting was organised by the national network of FORCES, in collaboration with Child for Child and the Law (CCL), National Law School of India University (NLSIU). The meeting facilitated crucial discussions on some of the key issues associated with childrens’ needs and paved the way for a consensus amongst participants from different organisations to cohesively work towards establishing a state-wide network for FORCES. This network is expected to play a pivotal role in prioritising institutionalisation of childcare needs, advocating for policy, legal and systemic reforms and disseminating crucial evidence on a wide array of indicators associated with the landscape of child creches and care. The participants nominated CCL, NLSIU to anchor the role of convenor of the network and CCL looks forward to leveraging this opportunity to strengthen discourse on creches and child care needs in Karnataka
